Event

Queer Art Club London and Queer as Funghi

Present Queering Plant Myths and Legends – Foraging and Comic Making workshop.

Facilitated by Jenny Boat Draws and Susy.

Sunday 3rd July

Urban foraging walk 12.45pm – 13.45pm at Haggerston Park

Comic Making 2pm-4pm. At The Glory, 281 Kingsland RoadLondon E2 8AS.

Our next queer art club is in collaboration with mushroom nerd @queer.as.funghi. Susy (they/them) will be taking us urban foraging around the Glory, to show us some of the plants and funghi that grow there, and teach us about the myths and legends behind them. Often these myths and legends are male, pale and stale, so we are going to come up with our own and then return to the Glory to make plant comics full of queer myths, trans legends and homo lore!

No experience necessary, all materials provided.

ACCESS INFO

We will meet at the entrance to Haggerston Park next to the Sebright Children’s Centre at 12.30, with the walk starting at 12.45. The walk will be an hour long, ending at 1.45, before we head to the Glory for Queer Art Club’s start 2.

Route information to follow asap – @queer.as.funghi is going to walk the path on Weds and confirm the accessibility of the route.

There will be foraged (vegan) snacks and drinks at the Glory, but you are welcome to bring your own food too. There are toilets at the start of the walk, and again at the Glory.

REMINDER: This is a QUEER event in a QUEER venue. Racist, homophobic and transphobic abuse of performers, patrons or staff will NOT be tolerated.
