As 2022 draws to a close – the Marias find themselves broke, alone and morally bankrupt – nothing new. But this Christmas, there’s something different.
Aurora keeps waking up nauseous, Jen’s breasts have never been more swollen and tender, and Rosemary’s cravings have gone wild. Could it be? Could the Marias’ lives be about to change forever as they welcome new life into the world? There’s only one snag. The Marias are ‘Pure, Untouched Virgins’ (per the title of their joint 2009 autobiography – being adapted for Netflix next year xoxo) so something doesn’t quite add up. To uncover the truth, these three wise old whores set out on a quest across East London and in the process will clunkily shoe-horn several talented performers into the narrative.
The Marias return to where it all started for the Greatest (and most chaotic) Christmas story never told. There may be no room at any of Haggerston’s many SmartHotels but a Shining Star rises above The Glory on this holiest of nights….Tuesday 20th December 2022.
